San Antonio Web Design

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

San Antonio Web Design companies offer a wide range of both talents and prices.  The last thing you want to do is pay a very high price for a low quality website.  What you don’t know is that there are a handful of so called “San Antonio web designers” that are merely altering existing free templates off the web or are using a web page editor that you could use just as well.  Normally, if this was the case, you’d simply be overpaying for something you could be doing yourself but in these instances, a tremendous amount of html or css code is thrown into your website by the automatic design program.  This is harmful to your search engine optimization efforts and can increase the difficulty of appearing on the first page of searches.  San Antonio web design should be relatively cheap for simple info websites.  If you are being charged over $750 for a basic website, you should consult other web designers to see if you can’t find better deals on building a website.  However, more complicated webpages such as those including java script will cost more due to the time and knowledge to create those type of San Antonio websites.

Link Directories Are Viewed Negatively

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

If you’re thinking about paying for submission into a link directly, you’ll want to think again.  Link directories were largely popular in the late 90s and early turn of the century.  As you can deduce from the name, link directories are a cumulation of links to different websites organized by niche.  Truly junky directories are referred to as link farms.  Many people bought links or submitted links to these farms in hopes of easily improving their SEO.  Google has cracked down on this as it is seen as essentially buying your way to the top.  Google wants sites that deservedly belong at the top, not sites that paid to be their.  Some directories such as dmoz.org help in ranking, but submissions must also be approved by an editor and often take weeks to pass or fail.

Tips For Your Website

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Here are some helpful hints for SEO on your website: keep your design simple.  This helps search engines plainly read what your website is about.  Also, keep your website on a topic.  Websites that talk about their intended purpose will rank better than those that lack a sense of direction.  For example, if your website is about cars, keep the website about cars and auto related information rather than drifting off into talk about hams and other cured meats.  Another tip is to avoid excessive website code such as html or php.  While these things can help your website look better, they often come at a sacrifice in traffic.
